BrainFest 2024 Recap: Building a Healthier Community, One Step at a Time

This year, on September 21st, we celebrated more than just a date on the calendar. In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day and our third birthday, we held our very first annual BrainFest—and what an event it was. With over 350 members of our community coming together, we raised more than $4,000 for the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, showing that when we unite for a cause, the results are meaningful and truly impactful.

At MOSH, we’re more than just protein bars and puzzle books; as The Brain Brand® we’re on a mission to keep your mind sharp, your body moving, and our community thriving. BrainFest was the perfect embodiment of the pillars of brain health and what we stand for. Let’s dive into some of the highlights of the day, and get excited about what’s to come.

Starting Strong: Yoga and Walking for Wellness

We kicked things off bright and early with a warm-up session led by CorePower Yoga. It was the perfect way to get the blood flowing and set the tone for the day. Nothing quite says "mind-body connection" like some deep stretches, breathing exercises, and those moments of calm before the day's activities began.

Next, we laced up our sneakers for an invigorating one-hour walk through the neighborhood. Getting our steps in while chatting together brought out the true essence of the event: movement is medicine. Walking is a simple but powerful tool for maintaining brain health, and doing it in good company made it all the more enjoyable. You could truly feel that we were all walking for a greater cause—supporting Alzheimer’s awareness while looking after our own well-being.

The Main Event: Fun, Friends, and Self-Care

When we returned from the walk, things were boosted to the next level! With over 10 incredible partners set up, there was something for everyone to enjoy. From creating custom flower bouquets at the DIY flower station with Tansy to enjoying luxurious mini facials from Formula Fig, every corner of BrainFest was packed with interactive, rejuvenating activities. Guests also lined up for B12 injections from Drip Hydration, which offered an instant pick-me-up. We believe that brain health is closely tied to self-care.

What really made BrainFest stand out, though, was the sense of connection and community. People mingled, made new friends, and learned more about how they could support their own brain health through lifestyle changes. It wasn’t just about walking or stretching; it was about building a community where health—both mental and physical—is prioritized.

Community Is Key: Why We Do What We Do

At MOSH, we believe that community is one of the most important pillars of brain health. That’s why we made BrainFest happen. We’re more than a company that provides products to fuel your body and challenge your mind—we’re here to make a difference in our community and contribute to causes we care about, like Alzheimer’s research.

When you participate in events like BrainFest, you’re not just attending a wellness event; you’re becoming part of a movement that’s actively promoting brain health in every possible way. You’re joining a group of like-minded individuals who care about making healthy choices, supporting their communities, and giving back.

Be Part of Our Growing Movement

Our hope is to make each year’s BrainFest bigger and better, and we can’t wait for what’s in store for next year. Whether you’re coming to break a sweat, learn something new, or simply enjoy some good company, we want YOU to be part of our growing community. The feedback from this year’s event was phenomenal, and it’s clear that BrainFest has officially become one of the highlights of our calendar.

As we look forward to future events, we’re committed to continuing our mission to inspire people to live healthier, more mindful lives. We’ll keep bringing you the tools to stay sharp—whether that’s through our protein-packed snacks, brain-boosting puzzle books, or events like BrainFest that promote a holistic approach to brain health. We’re here to support every aspect of your journey.

See You Next Year

Whether you joined us for yoga, enjoyed a facial, or just came to soak in the positive vibes, we want to thank every single one of you who made BrainFest such a success. You helped us not only celebrate our third birthday in style but also make a real difference for a cause that matters. Those who made it were also attendees of the very first (of many) BrainFest events! Let’s keep the momentum going.

If you missed this year’s event, don’t worry—next year’s BrainFest is already in the works, and we’re planning something even more amazing. Stay tuned for updates, and remember, together we’re more than just a brand. We’re a community that’s committed to fueling our bodies, challenging our minds, and making every step count. Together, let’s keep our brains and our communities thriving.

Mark your calendars and get ready for an even bigger BrainFest next year—we’ll see you there!

The Women's Alzheimer's Movement (WAM) is the preeminent organization focused exclusively on women and Alzheimer’s. WAM was created to raise awareness around Alzheimer’s as a disease that discriminates against women, since two out of every three brains that develop Alzheimer’s belong to women–with women of color at even higher risk– and 2 out of 3 caregivers of all races and ethnicities being women as well. Until 10 years ago, the conventional thinking was that the higher incidence of Alzheimer’s in women simply reflected the fact that women tend to outlive men. That narrative was disrupted back in 2010, when WAM founder Maria Shriver partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association on a ground-breaking report challenging the assumption that age alone accounted for the higher number of women with Alzheimer’s. Ever since that seminal Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Takes on Alzheimer’s, WAM and Shriver have taken every opportunity to highlight the disproportionate and particular impact of Alzheimer’s on women. WAM's mission is to discover why Alzheimer’s discriminates against women and communities of color and to prepare women and their families for the impact of Alzheimer’s by providing them with information and tools to help prevent the disease. WAM envisions a future in which Alzheimer’s will no longer destroy the lives of women and their families. WAM works to change the future for women and Alzheimer’s by focusing on the four pillars: research, education, advocacy and clinical care. WAM funds critical gender based research to advance our knowledge of how Alzheimer’s affects women, educates the public about Alzheimer’s through summits, national polls, reports and educational guides. WAM advocates at all levels of government for policies, increased funding and other social, political and economic changes that will move the needle on Alzheimer’s. WAM provides on the ground services to give women the medical guidance they need to reduce their risk for developing the disease.

We recommend that pregnant or breastfeeding women contact their healthcare practitioner prior to consuming MOSH to ascertain whether consumption is safe.
